Hey y'all I'm back for a minute.

October 31st, 2011. 


I'm really not sure I have anything to say about that! HA!! (I never did pick a winning business name.. Sorry kids.)


So it is August 2nd, 2012. A lot has happened over the last almost a year. Here I sit in the bath tub 'relaxing' after a shitty day.


The last 9 months in a nutshell: 
-Alex and I had our 1st anniversary. We still love each other! HA! We are 'trying' to make a human. (By trying I mean we occasionally engage in coitus and I am no longer taking birth control so a human might result from this. HA Y'all are VERY welcome for that visual! 
-Alex is done school. (HAPPY DANCE)
-We are back in the land where things make sense! (I missed home SO bad!)
-We both are working. I don't want to be working. Not that, that would surprise anybody at all that Amy doesn't like working!! 
-We found a 'nice' 2 bedroom apartment in Rosemont. (Pretty sure everybody in the building except us have cats. SO the back half <<public area>> of our building smells like rotten cat ass!)
-Our place is nice though.. I like it anyway. Really though I live with the man I love so what more could a girl ask for... Besides maybe a mansion with a swimming pool, a butler and a maid... **Wishful thinking**


Really though if I am being perfectly honest.. Nothing that exciting has happened in our lives.. We are pretty *basic (read boring) people! 


I still like to crochet. I learned how to crochet toques! That was an exciting life event! (Grandma Brown would be so proud!) My Friend Jacqui Cameron needed something to do while she was in the hospital with her awesome son Rylan (he had brain surgery and spent a month in Vancouver) So a bunch of girls decided to make baby hats and donate them to the hospital. I made <I want to say around 54> and the first half of them were donated. I even saw a picture of a baby wearing one of the hats I made. (Warmed my heart!) 


I have a new'ish hobby now. I like to sew.. I started sewing cloth diapers.(I am getting good too) The cloth diaper thing all started when I saw some videos on YouTube about families who cloth diaper their kids. First  I thought Ewe that's gross. But then I really got to thinking about it. And it seems like a pretty okay idea to me! First off WAY cheaper. Second disposable diapers sit in landfills for over 500 years 'they' say. And THAT is GROSS! Either way Alex and I decided we would give it a try. So for one day when we make a human as a result of our occasional coitus, I will have diapers to put them in! For WAY cheaper! I am all about cheaper! 


Anyway... Here I sit in my bathtub (I HAVE A BATHTUB AGAIN!!) my little toes are starting to look like the California Raisins, and I am SURE that Alex is wondering what the hell is wrong with me! (I have been in here for about an hour... I missed my bath tub!) 


I am fully aware that this blog post will be a cluster fu*k of thoughts.... But that is something that y'all will have to deal with!!! I just popped by to say HEY! and I might be around for a little while longer on this blog thing.. Or maybe I will post this and disappear for another 9 months. And If I did that would be okay too.  


So on that note... I'M BACK!!

::family camping trip::

we went home for the labor day game/long weekend. our family was going camping so we tagged along. let me tell you i am happy that we were just tag alongs! who the heck knew that you needed so dang much stuff to go camping! gosh. i sure am glad that my dad and les had everything!!

we got to steal the little nugget!! i love me some ashton! that little face can make you happy no matter how bad you feel!!

this is ashton playing his favorite game of the entire weekend!! drive auntie's car! not just auntie's car. any car would do! you could just put him in the front seat of a car close the door and carry on with having fun!

(no we did not leave him alone in the car. for too long)

i did that once and came back and all the dirt that was on the floor ended up on my seat. hmmm thanks ashton! that kid is lucky i love him!

dad and les brought their cat, who decided it would be great to climb up the tree.

i didn't see any of this happen until les was about to jump off my dads back. here i come running and yelling. 'wait, wait! stay like that i need to take a picture!'

so this was the best shot i could get without my dad getting crushed to death! (not that les is big enough to crush him. cause shes not!) but he is 'old' and he did just have knee surgery a few months ago..

here he is playing his favorite game again!

this little nugget was cranky! he decided that he didn't want to have a nap. we were camping after all! scott(my brother) was laying down with him in the tent forever. i went in to have a nap too. ashton decided that nobody was sleeping. he was too busy being a cranky 19month old fighting sleep like he was going to die if he closed his eyes! well i had just about enough of that! so i asked if he wanted to go drive my car. he was all over that in seconds! so we (scott, alex, ashton and i) went for a car ride. it took him .7km to fall asleep. he slept in my car for almost 2 hours!

tina was 'tired' and 'cranky' too.

we may or may not have started drinking 'soda' at around 9-9:30am that day. tina was in a serious need of a 'nap' at around 4:12pm she 'fell asleep' for a couple hours. and let me tell you i love this girl to death. but i am pretty sure that anyone of us would have been almost willing to kill her! i love you tina... just not when you are that dru... 'tired'

oh yes. there was a football game! a football game that we won! let me tell you. the drive from calgary to regina and back again is long enough. never mind when we keep losing football games. that makes it worse! and frustrating! thank goodness we didn't have that problem this time! it was a good game indeed! i say we keep going like this!

look at my poor nose! it got so burnt. my face hurt for a couple days after this game! and I even had spf 45 on my face. i don't get it.

all in all we had a great weekend. filled with family fun. and a great football game! what more could a girl ask for??
